Hair camouflage · Non-surgical
Experienced. Expert. Ethical.
How wigs, hair weaving, bonding, clipping, gumming and keratin fibres work, and how they compare with a hair transplant
Camouflage hides a visible scalp without surgery, to give the look of fuller hair. It suits some people, particularly when a transplant is not possible, but it has limits.

Wigs
Baldness is more obvious when the scalp shows through, so camouflage is the simplest response. Many people with hair loss, including diffuse thinning, prefer hairpieces or wigs because they seem easy to use.
Wig hair is either synthetic acrylic fibre or natural hair. Modern wigs give immediate, natural-looking coverage.
Woven into your own hair. They rise as your hair grows, so they need frequent adjustment.
Sit over your own hair.
The drawbacks. Wigs can get uncomfortably hot in summer, and often cause itching and dandruff. They may be noticed, and they need regular upkeep.
Hair patches and hair systems
Hairpieces (also called hair patches or hair systems) are fixed by weaving, bonding, clipping or gumming. These methods are quick and cheaper at the start, but all are temporary and not a lifelong solution.
A newer option is spraying artificial keratin fibres to mask sparse, thinning hair. Another non-surgical option is scalp micropigmentation (SMP), which creates the look of short hair or density on the scalp.

Hair transplant
Your own hair
your own follicles are moved, and they keep growing
Camouflage is temporary; a hair transplant moves your own hair follicles, so the hair that grows is your own. If a transplant is not possible, for example because of poor donor hair, camouflage is recommended to improve your appearance and confidence. At Dr. Madhu's Advanced Hair Transplant Centre in Jubilee Hills, the doctors will tell you honestly which suits you.
