The priority of the scalp (sufficient donor hair required)
To perform a beard or moustache transplant, there must be an abundant supply of healthy donor hair on the scalp. If a patient is suffering from extensive scalp baldness and has a limited donor supply, the remaining donor hair may simply not be sufficient to cover both the head and the face. In these cases, it is our clinical recommendation that the limited donor grafts be prioritized and preserved for restoring the scalp area. Utilizing precious donor hair for a beard transplant when the scalp severely needs coverage is not recommended.
